Muskrat needs to be deported back to South Africa as he is a threat to our democracy.
Space Karen is rapidly ruining that platform in his quest to own the libs.
Imagine spending $44 billion just so you can piss off random libs scattered across the country. Billionaires could make life better for people but instead use their wealth to punish us.
This thread is full of the luckiest people on the planet, I think. Also goes to show just how calm even venomous snakes are - coral snakes rarely bite unless you’re actively harassing them - and how important it is to make sure your ID as non-venomous is 1000% certain before picking up any wild snake.
Ok but the guy with the octopus knows damn well how dangerous it is and he’s still keeping them as pets. That’s like…different than not knowing what something is. He deserves a higher level of idiot shaming
I hate those posts that are like “crab bucket mentality ignores that crabs don’t Choose to be in buckets, they’re put there, and it’s stupid to blame the crabs when it’s the system that trapped them in there that’s the problem”
because yeah, there Are systems beyond our control and sometimes understanding that put us in awful situations that we can’t always escape. we get hurt because we don’t have the power to undo those systems by ourselves.
but the whole point is that people who are put in situations that they can’t control often lash out at people who aren’t responsible for their pain to Get that sense of control. you can’t undo capitalism, you can’t stop nazism, you can’t dismantle the government. but you Can start harassment campaigns online. you Can bully and ostracize and demonize other people who are hurt by the systems you’re punishing them for.
this happens Constantly, people hating other minority groups and justifying it by painting them as the cause of their problems or as being leeches that are drawing power away from the people who Actually deserve help from this awful system.
so people put others down in an attempt to raise themselves up not realizing that we’re all in the same bucket. it doesn’t do anything but hurt people, and inevitably yourself too.
and the very important thing to understand about this, is that it’s ultimately a choice. you can’t always control the impulse to feel this way, but you can choose to be Aware of it, you can choose not to act on it.
you can’t change the systems by yourself, but you can make Choices that will prevent people from getting hurt. being trapped in an awful system doesn’t change that it’s your choice to be kind or not.
I need to stop going into the tags for my own sanity but “transandrophobia isn’t real because androphobia isn’t real” is a rlly funny argument. Like, wdym something is “impossible” for you to do? It literally has the word “possible” in it so you should be able to do it. Why should the “im” change anything? Just seems like a poor excuse to be lazy if you ask me.
And of course we all know “transphobia” means the fear of change, “aphobia” means the fear of nothing, and “homophobia” means the fear of the same. These words cannot possibly have any other meaning to them because that is what their root words are made up of. I am very smart you see, checkmate losers.
my favorite was seeing someone say “transandrophobia is the intersection of societal oppression against men and against trans people, and since there’s no societal oppression of men transandrophobia isn’t real.”
me when i read the title “lord of the flies” and go “psh flies aren’t sentient enough to have lords, this book is bullshit.”
I forget sometimes how long words tend to get in icelandic
Reading a book and half of a line is just one word. And it’s the longer half
Did you guys know that the Icelandic word for detective is “rannsóknarlögreglumaður”
Oh that one’s actually at a pretty normal length, it’s just “einkaspæjari” (which technically just means “private spy” but that’s the word we have for it)
“rannsóknarlögreglumaður” can actually be broken down into three words (Icelandic loves to shove multiple words into one) like this:

I study graphic design and my tutor recommended and used this in his classes at art college last year, it’s so good it has SO many features for free, I really recommend it, even if you’re just trying to learn the basics of PS, such a wonderful thing <3
